I founded The Great Weekender because I wanted visitors to experience the places I love in the way I would show them to friends.
Not simply ticking off landmarks, but discovering the stories, neighbourhoods, pubs, restaurants, countryside and characters that make Britain special.
The Great Weekender Private takes that idea much further.
Rather than joining me for a few hours, I can personally plan and host your time here - whether that's an exceptional few days in London, a week exploring England or a longer journey through Britain and Europe.
Before you arrive, I'll get to know what you enjoy, how you like to travel and what you want from your trip.
Then I'll take care of the details.
I can meet you when you arrive, accompany you throughout your journey, arrange your days, organise private transport, make recommendations and reservations, introduce you to specialist guides and experiences, and change things along the way whenever necessary.
Think of me as your host, local insider and trusted pair of hands while you're here.

Others would rather spend an afternoon discovering historic pubs, meet a local artisan, find an extraordinary restaurant or take the beautiful road instead of the fastest one.
Usually, it's a mixture of everything.
That's why we don't begin with an itinerary.
We begin with you.
Tell us what interests you, what you've experienced before, what you've always wanted to do — and even what you definitely don't want to do.
We'll create the journey around that.
And because you're travelling privately, nothing has to be set in stone.
If you're enjoying lunch, stay for another bottle.
If the weather changes, we'll change the day.

And if you wake up one morning and simply don't fancy what we'd planned, we'll find something better.
